Studio Classes

Kat teaches multiple classes a week at Hot Yoga Chelsea, including traditional hot (Bikram), Vinyasa, and Hot HIIT. She also teaches two (plus subs!) vinyasa flow classes a week at Vera. A bit about each studio below.

At Hot Yoga Chelseawe believe that yoga is for everyone regardless of age, body type, or experience level – it’s never too late to start your yoga practice. At Hot Yoga Chelsea our mission is to provide a genuine and fulfilling hot yoga practice that will contribute to the physical and emotional health of our students.” This space has been Kat’s teaching and practice home since her friend dragged her to her first hot class after a “breakup” (it’s a long story), and she’s been obsessed with hot classes ever since. Hot Yoga Chelsea has been a supportive place that has even hosted community events for Kat and other teachers.

Kat is so excited to begin her teaching journey with Vera. VERAYOGA “teaches alignment-informed, athletic, vinyasa sequencing in a mood-lit, heated room.  Learn the shapes with options to decide what works for your unique body. After building sequences together, the music goes up, the teacher fades out, and you get to explore each flow at your own pace. It’s a moving meditation led by your breath and the beat.” Kat more recently discovered Vera when they opened a new studio in her neighborhood and has loved diving deeper into her practice through their style, tunes, and personal connections to the practice. Vera is a vibe, and she’s stoked to join the community as a teacher.

Catch Kat at Vera Thursdays 8a at the Boerum Hill location and Sundays 5p at Williamsburg. Check here for their schedule, as she is also hopping on to sub about once a week. While she does not have a set schedule at Hot Yoga Chelsea, check out her instagram here where she posts her weekly schedule on Sundays.

Why take a studio class? The power of practicing amongst other students seeking self-care and betterment cannot be understated. The energy of being in a heated space working hard together provides a real sense of community, whether a heated Bikram class where students work hard and then practice stillness; a vinyasa class where students have the ability to try on newer poses and sequences set to a carefully crafted playlist; or a Hot HIIT class where the endorphins really kick in and you find yourself “woo”-ing during a house remix of a Prince song mid burpee.
